Buying the Right Personal Security Product
When I woke up this morning I got up and looked around and said thank you universe for another day. Then the day started. I turned on the TV, turned to the news, and saw a police officer detain a 93-year old grandmother with three guns in her car. The policeman asked her, “What are you so afraid of?” She said that with all her protection, “Not a damn thing.”
It’s a sad thing that, from being a young child to being a grandparent, we have to watch our backs because we don’t know who to trust. But why carry guns that can be used against us or someone else because there’s a chance it could be stolen from your home or vehicle? There’s also a chance that a family member could be hurt with it.
There are personal security products like stun guns, pepper sprays, personal alarms and more that can provide safety for our society without causing permanent damage to anyone in a threatening situation.
Obviously our society has become a dangerous place to live, and we have to be prepared at all times for predators. There is little left for us to do except arm ourselves with effective self defense devices for our protection.
DSLR War: Nikon Vs Canon
There is no doubt that Canon and Nikon are the two most famous camera brands. These brands are famous for their single lens reflex (SLR) cameras because they were the first ones to make the switch from film to digital. They constantly battle against each other for the title of the best SLR manufacturer in the world.
Canon and Nikon constantly produce new cameras and it is difficult to tell which one is better. All DSLRs may look alike at first glance, but each carries its own advantages and disadvantages. Consumer DSLRs can be categorized into three types – entry-level, intermediate, and prosumer. Below are the pros and cons of Nikon and Canon digital SLR cameras:
1. Entry-Level Cameras
Entry-level cameras are specially designed for beginners and they don’t have lots of buttons or features that can be overwhelming. The examples of entry-level cameras are Canon Rebel T3 1100 D and the Nikon D3100. These cameras share many similarities and the photos produced by both cameras are equally brilliant. One big difference between the two is the lens. Nikon D3100 is not completely backwards-compatible with the previous Nikon lenses whereas the Rebel T3 is compatible with other Canon lenses and third-party lenses. So how does this difference impact you? If in the future you want to have a specialty lens, you only have limited options with the D3100. On the other hand, with the Canon Rebel T3 you can get any Canon lenses or buy third-party ones which are usually less expensive.
High Velocity Shower Heads From Oxygenics
My house, built in 2001, came with unsatisfactory, really wimpy low flow toilets and showers. Several years later my gym opened, and their low flow shower heads were an improvement over the ones at my house. Recently, however, they replaced all them with new ones from Oxygenics. I fell in love with them instantly. They feel like the old days, when a shower meant a great, gushing stream of water. It had been a long time since I enjoyed my shower so much.
When I took a look at the Oxygenics web site, it was easy to see how the gym benefitted when it replaced of all the old fixtures. Federal government regulations require that shower heads use no more than 2.5 gallons of water per minute. Some Oxygenics products draw on as little as 1.5 gallons per minute and still feel like they have superior pressure.
The picture that most closely matches what the gym installed has a way to control the flow and uses 2.0 gallons per minute. The gym is open every day all day and night, so not paying for half a gallon of water every minute that someone is taking a shower must save a bundle of money. Giving a better shower experience to its users is a nice bonus.
